About This Project
Philosophy, Methodology & Creator
The Philosophy
Time is Money Calculator was born from a simple but profound idea: when we spend money, we're not just spending currency—we're spending hours of our lives.
Every purchase represents a portion of your finite life energy. This tool helps visualize that exchange, making abstract financial decisions concrete and personal.
How It Works
Input Your Reality
Enter your actual net income—the money that reaches your pocket after taxes and deductions.
Define the Cost
Specify any purchase price—from a cup of coffee to a new car or house.
Calculate the Exchange
The calculator converts monetary value into time units based on your income.
Visualize the Impact
See the results in months, weeks, days, and hours with clear visualizations.
The Mathematics
// For monthly income:
hourly_rate = net_income / (hours_per_week × 4.33)
hours_required = purchase_price / hourly_rate
life_energy_cost = convert_hours_to_time_units(hours_required)
The calculation assumes a standard work month of 4.33 weeks. You can adjust work hours and days for more personalized results when using hourly income mode.
Privacy First Design
100% Client-Side
All calculations happen in your browser. No data is sent to servers, ensuring complete privacy.
No Data Retention
Your financial information disappears when you close the tab. We don't store, track, or analyze your usage.
